VDM Confirms $100,000 Humanitarian Support from Burna Boy for Prison Fines and Hospital Bills
Full Transcript
After yesterday’s activities, Burna Boy was in Benikrukru, Baramatu, Delta State, then moved to Lagos.
On my way to Abuja, he called me and said he wanted to do something quickly.
He gave me $100,000 — not for enjoyment, but to free people in prison and clear hospital bills.
$50,000 is for prison fines. $50,000 is for hospital bills.
We attempted to go to the prison together, but protocols required due process.
The money is now with me, and I will work through proper channels across all states.
₦75 million can free many people with small fines who have been detained for years.
This is not about running away with money. If that were the case, it would have happened already.
Peace and love. Don’t play.
On the $100,000 Humanitarian Intervention and Nationwide Execution Plan
After concluding engagements, events continued in 0, Delta State, before onward movement to 1. While en route to 2, 3 reached out with the intention to act immediately.
The Contribution
Burna Boy provided $100,000 strictly for humanitarian purposes — not for personal enjoyment or discretionary use.
- $50,000 allocated to clearing prison fines
- $50,000 allocated to settling hospital bills for detained patients
At current rates, $50,000 ≈ ₦75 million, a sum capable of restoring freedom and access to care for many individuals.
Process and Protocol
An attempt was made to deliver the prison allocation directly; however, correctional procedures require structured approvals and coordination. With mutual understanding, the funds were entrusted to VDM to execute via due process.
Execution will occur across all 36 states, prioritizing individuals detained for low-value fines (₦150,000–₦300,000 range), where impact per naira is highest.
Assurance of Transparency
The funds are secured and earmarked exclusively for the stated purposes. Implementation will be documented, compliant, and auditable.
Statement Summary
This statement confirms the receipt of a $100,000 humanitarian contribution from Burna Boy, dedicated strictly to clearing prison fines and settling hospital bills for indigent patients.
